“You little bitch, I asked you who you were talking to!” The man in a mask walked towards her.
“I’m the one you’re after, please let them go!” Dr. Calvin pleaded, blocking Rose from him but he was an old man so it wasn’t so hard to push him aside.
The man stood over Rose and kicked her in the stomach making her cry out in pain,

“No! Please No!” She turned so he could kick her back and not her child. But it wa
begun to bleed but the man wasn’t stopping.
Rose cried as the women stayed silently in a corner afraid of saying anything that might anger him and make him target them.
Zane and his men arrived and they began to surround the hospital while the police rushed forward to the room where they were being held hostage.
“I’m glad you’re safe! Have you called Rose?” Zane asked when he met Ethan inside the hospital.
Guilt flashed in his eyes before he spoke, “She’s one of the hostages.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Zane groaned as he took out his walkie–talkie.
Before they could get feedback, the sound of a gunshot could be heard and a scream followed. Ethan and Zane rushed to the room and found the police pointing the guns at the door,
“You’re surrounded! Drop your weapons and step out of the room!” Detective Micheal shouted.
“Shit! What do we do?” One asked his partner.
“The bitch lied to us, she said if we-”
“Shut up! I know what to do. Grab the old man! The leader shouted as he grabbed Rose.
She covered her stomach protectively as he opened the door and placed the gun against her temple.
“If you move any step forward, I’ll blow her brains out!” He snarled.
Everyone was frozen in place. But when Rose locked eyes with Detective Micheal, he winked at her and she understood the signal. She grabbed her captor’s hand and bit on it with her teeth making him release
her.
“You bitch!”
Before he could lock his gun, four bullets were aimed at him. He was shot in the chest and he fell back with a thud. The friends saw how the tables had turned and placed the guns against their temples and shot themselves. Blood splattered on the white walls behind them as Ethan let out a curse.
“Fucking hell!”
Screams could be heard as the hospital turned into an uproar.
Detective Micheal walked towards the one who was holding Rose and pulled off his mask,
“Such a young boy.” He said sadly.

But everything started to fade and Rose’s vision became blurry. She held her stomach and noticed that it was covered in blood but she didn’t know if it was hers or if it belonged to one of the criminals. The awful scent hit her nose but she had no time to react because she collapsed, Ethan held her in his arms and rushed her to the emergency room leaving Zane to wrap everything up.
“Can I get the best doctor here? Dr. Calvin is shaken, and he can’t attend to her.” Ethan shouted.
But the hospital was in such turmoil that the nurses could barely hear him with all the noise going on. Everyone was panicking and the nurses had to calm the situation.
Seeing that no one would attend to him, he ran out using the VIP door and rushed to his car. Zoe was still sitting in the front seat when she saw Ethan carrying Rose. Her heart boiled at the sight but she quickly recovered as she stepped out of the car and held the door open for Ethan,
“What happened? I thought Rose was home.” Zoe asked
“I thought so too. I have to take her to the hospital, go with Alfred. He will take you home. Ethan said as he closed the back seat door and opened the driver’s seat. 1
“No, I want to help. You. I feel like it’s my fault that Rose got hurt.” She held onto Ethan’s shirt.
“Okay,” Ethan said and Zoe rushed to the front seat.
“This was a close call, She would have lost the child had you delayed any further. Dr. Marvin said. Ethan breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that. But he looked at Rose who was still unconscious and asked.
“But why is she still unconscious?”
“It must be shock and also, I can see that she looks very weak. Has she been skipping meals?” Dr. Marvin asked but Ethan didn’t know how to respond because he rarely paid attention and didn’t know if she was eating or not. But the fact that he was the wealthiest man who had his own nutritionist, expecting his wife to be malnourished was the least he expected.
“That’s so sad to-hear, it seems like Rose doesn’t want this child if you ask me! She kept it a secret from
you
for three months and now she hasn’t been eating well?” Zoe folded her arms across her chest.
The d
doctor noticed the tension and smiled, “I don’t think that’s the case. Anyway, the child is fine so we can all give her some space and wait for her to wake up.”
“Are you sure nothing can cause her to lose the baby? I’m really concerned about her. I feel like it’s my fault. Ethan should have been watching over her but he was helping me instead!” Zoe began to shed tears.
“No, unless they swap medication, nothing can go wrong.” The doctor said as he gestured for them to exit the room.
Zoe was the first to step out. She turned to Ethan and said, “Ethan, my manager has sent me a message that I need to meet him. I’ll be back soon.”
“No need, I’m sure Grandpa will be here soon. I don’t want him to misunderstand the situation.
Ethan’s cold response hit her in the chest and twisted painfully. She hated that Ethan was still not willing

“Oh, Okay then.” Zoe wiped her tears and grabbed her purse and walked away.
Once she had reached outside the hospital building, she took her phone out and dialed Franchesca’s. number who answered on the third ring.
“Zoe, what is it? It’s hectic at work right now.” Franchesca explained.
“I need you to find a nurse who can do a quick job for me tonight!”
