Rose didn’t stay to listen to the rest of the conversation, she rushed out and grabbed her purse.
Knowing the reporters were still at the entrance, she used the back entrance and rushed into the taxi that was waiting for her.
“Where to miss?” The driver asked.
“The bubbly hotel,” Rose responded.
“Okay, no problem!” The man responded and started the engine.
Back in the penthouse, Ethan was losing his patience.
“Who told you I’d divorce Rose for Zoe? Or is that what you wish you see?” He asked in a cold tone.
Andrew grabbed a glass of wine and shrugged, “That’s what it seems like. Otherwise, why would you and father have a contract?”
“It’s none of your business. But I will make one thing clear, I have no intention of leaving Rose, so if that’s the only thing you came to say to me, then I’ll take my leave!” Ethan grabbed his coat and walked out. 1
He rushed back to the room he left Rose but he found it empty. A frown crossed his handsome face as he took out his phone,
“Tom, where is Rose?”
“I thought Madam was in the room, I haven’t seen her walk out,” Tom responded.
“Well, she’s not here! Find her.” Ethan said into the phone as the fear of how she was taken last time crossed his mind.
“Yes sir!” Tom responded.
A day had passed and they couldn’t get hold of Rose. Ethan was panicking and kept on pacing back and
forth.
“You have a habit of losing the whereabouts of your wife. Are you having issues so that I hook you up with my marriage counselor ?” Zane teased as he typed on his computer.
“Shut up, you don’t even know shit about marriage!” Ethan growled.
“That makes two of us!” Zane laughed.
Ethan turned, clearly worried sick that something bad had happened to Rose and yet his best friend was here making jokes and it annoyed him, “Have you found her?”
“Yep, it shows she went out through the back door and
Ethan turned the screen to see the footage before Zane could even complete the sentence.
“Send me the address of that taxi now!” Ethan growled as he grabbed the keys and ran out.
“She’s fine!” Zane shouted after him but he was already out of the building.
Zane chuckled as he typed the address of the hotel Rose had gone to.

Rose was still asleep when she heard the door open and she bolted awake. Her heart was hammering in her chest and shock mirrored her face when she landed her gaze on a distressed–looking Ethan.
“Ethan?”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” He ran a hand in his black locks. Before looking at Rose again, “I barely slept and searched everywhere for you thinking something bad had happened, and yet here you are, having a beauty sleep.”
Guilt flushed in Rose’s eyes. She looked at Ethan with regret. “I didn’t know that you would be searching for me.” She said.
“You thought you’d go missing and I wouldn’t give a damn?” He asked, frustration evident in his voice, “Or were you hoping that would be the case so you’d meet someone else?”
“No, that’s not it,” Rose said.
She felt terrible and seeing the dark circles in his eyes meant he truly hadn’t slept. But In Rose’s mind, it was probably because he didn’t want Grandpa to get angry with him not knowing where his wife was.
“I’ll let Grandpa know it wasn’t your fault. You don’t need to worry.”
“How nice of you!” Ethan said with a hint of irritation in his voice.
Rose got up and quickly packed her bag. She had rushed straight from the event so she didn’t even carry a change of clothes. Worried she might put Ethan in a tight position, she looked up and said, “You can go ahead. I’ll be home soon.”
Ethan’s jaw ticked, “Are you avoiding being seen with me?”
“Yes, I’m sure it wouldn’t look good for us to be seen together,” Rose responded.
“I see! Fine. You’ll find your own way home then!” Ethan said and walked out, banging the door behind him. Rosé flinched at the impact, she wondered why he seemed more angry with everything she said.
“Isn’t being seen in public with something he always detested?” She mumbled to herself as she grabbed her phone to dial Natalie’s number.
Natalie was packing her documents to prepare for the case that she had in 30 minutes.
She glanced at the ID and picked it up, placing the phone between her ear and her shoulder, “Girl? What’s up?”
“Hi, Nat. Are you able to pick me up and bring me a change of clothes?” Rose said.

“Pick you up from where? Are you not home?” She asked.
“No, I’ll explain later. But I need to have a final check at the venue for the exhibition and I’m still wearing the same dress from last night.” 1
Natalie sighed, knowing something must have gone wrong for her to sleep anywhere else aside from

“I just have a quick case. If you can wait for an hour, I’ll come get you.”
“Is it very serious?”

“Tell me about it, but I’ll be done soon. You can wait right?”
Rose laughed, “I can wait. I don’t have much of a choice right now.”
“Did you and Ethan have a fight? Do I need to call my friends to pay him a visit?” Natalie asked as she threw her bag In the back seat and started the engine.
“No, we didn’t fight. I think I’m the one with a problem. I shouldn’t have expected so much from him. He did tell me there would be no love between us and now I believe it, I overheard him speaking to his father last night. Apparently, he married me for the shares of the company. I knew he didn’t marry me for love but it still hurts Nat.” Rose sniffed into the phone.
“That bastard! Wait for me babe, I’ll be there soon. Forget about him for now, focus on your big day. It’s only two days from now, you can’t afford any distractions.”
“You’re right. See you soon.” Rose said as she cut the line and sighed.
“If anything goes wrong I’ll be done for.” She mumbled to herself as she ran her fingers on the pictures of her designs.
