Chapter 49~ A mess
Gasps could be heard as the men surrounding Ethan looked at him in shock
“Married?” One asked.
“That’s news, Mr.Sinclair. Why have you kept it from us all this time?” Mr. Quin asked.
Everyone nodded in agreement. No one would have guessed Ethan was married. He showed no signs and wore no ring. So the news was odd and everyone wanted to Know the identity of his wife.
Eyes fell on Rose and one investor asked, “Could she be the one?”
Rose pulled her hand away. Not wanting to be in the spotlight. ‘I don’t want things to get messy once we divorce. I don’t want that to happen for my sake and his too.‘ 1
Before Ethan could respond, Rose answered, “No, I’m not the one. I’m merely working with Mr. Sinclair on a project and accompanied him tonight!“1
“So who is Mrs. Sinclair?”
Ethan watched Rose for a few seconds before turning to face the small crowd, “My wife wants to keep her identity a secret and I respect that. When she’s ready for the world to know her, I’ll be more than happy to tell you.”
“You’re even respecting your wife’s wishes and protecting her! You must really love her!” (1)
“Indeed! Who would have thought that Mr.Sinclair was such a devoted family man!” Mr. Quin Said in an impressed tone.
“Why don’t we get settled inside?” Ethan asked and they all nodded and headed inside leaving him alone
with Rose.
Ethan turned to face her, “Why don’t you want people to know you’re my wife? Is there someone else you have feelings for?”
‘Is it Mason?‘ he asked the follow–up question in his mind.
“No,‘t just don’t think now is the best time. “Rose responded.
“I see.”
“Let’s go in, others are waiting for you to settle so the show can start,” Rose said, avoiding his gaze afraid she might tell him what was truly on her mind.
As they walked inside, there were two rows of seats and the middle was a long white stage.
Everything was decorated to perfection and when Ethan walked in, they all stood. He nodded and took a seat with Rose next to him and others followed suit.
Back in the dressing room, Zoe was having a breakdown and her makeup kept getting ruined because of the tears she couldn’t stop shedding.
When she heard that Ethan had announced he was married, she fainted and was rushed backstage so the paramedics could attend to her.

“Isn’t she the model who was making everyone feel like shit because we thought she was dating Ethan?” One model asked.
“I guess she’s just a home wrecker! Trying to cling to a married man? Pretty desperate if you ask me!” Another commented.
“Come on! We have a show to prepare for! Leone will be coming any minute.”
Zoe was so ashamed and angry, she felt like grabbing onto something and sucking the life out of it. She had to pretend she was still unconscious as the women talked because she couldn’t fight back.
She had turned into a laughing stock overnight.
Monica who had been absent throughout the entire thing rushed in with two new dresses in her hand.
“Zoe! Look, I found two beautiful dresses you can change into. I’m sure Ethan will fall in love with you all over again once he sees you!”
“Are you stupid?” Zoe pushed Monica away from her, making her fall to the floor.
Monica was taken aback as she looked up, tears stinging her eyes, “Did I do something wrong?”
“Get out of my face! I need to think.” Zoe spat.
Monica wiped her tears and placed the dresses on the chair and was about to walk out when she heard Zoe speak again,
“Wait! I need you to do something for me!”
Monica halted her steps and turned around, “What would you like me to do for you?”
A few hours later…
The fashion show was in full Swing and Rose started to feel slightly dizzy because of how hungry she was. Due to anxiety and rushing to prepare, she forgot to have something to eat and her body was slowly giving out.
Ethan noticed her discomfort and whispered, “Do you need something to eat?”
“Yes, I’m hungry.”
“Let’s go, we have a couple of chefs In the other room. I’m sure the buffet is ready by now.”
Rose shook her head.
“I can go alone, you stay here. I won’t be long.” Ross whispered back.
She didn’t want to be seen with Ethan next to her everywhere she went for fear of waking up to the opposite news the next day. Having a successful exhibition was one of her dreams and staying away from anything that would tarnish her name was important to her.
“Fine, but let Tom go with you,” Ethan said.
Rose nodded knowing how Stubborn her husband would get when things didn’t go his way.

lights went out leaving only the stage lights on and Rose took this opportunity to sneak out.
She found the room Ethan was talking about and her stomach growled making her laugh, “You’re really hungry aren’t you?” She rubbed her belly.
Tom rushed forward, “Mrs. Sinclair. What would you like to eat?”
Rose looked around, horrified by the way Tom addressed her, she searched the room and let out a sigh of relief when she confirmed that it was just the two of them, “Please call me Rose, What if people hear you?” 1
“My apologies!” Tom said, not understanding why it was a big deal if others knew that she was Ethan’s wife. But he knew Ethan would have his head on a platter if he didn’t do as Rose wished.
“It’s Okay, please let me have some pasta with chicken. Or anything fast, I’m really hungry.” Rose half laughed.
Tom smifed before pushing his glasses forward, “Not a problem. Please take a seat.”
Tom disappeared behind the doors and Rose sighed, she was about to turn when she bumped into
someone,
“I’d be careful, and watch where I’m going if I were you. Now look at you, wearing a dress covered in soup! I wonder what the media will say about that.”
