“This is it! Let’s ask them to put it aside. We can pick it up on our way back since it takes a while for them to pack and sort everything out and I’m so hungry!” Natalie said with a groan.
“Are you sure? There seems to be awfully a great number of people present. Should we pay in advance?” Rose looked at her best friend with a worried expression.
“Hello Love, can you ring us up?” Natalie turned to one of the girls in uniform.
The girl looked at her apologetically, “I’m afraid you’ll have to join the queue, to make a payment.
Natalie looked around and a groan escaped her lips, “They’re so many people. We just want to grab something quick, can you hold it for me for a few minutes?”
“… 1” The girl hesitated.
“It’s fine dear. Nat, you go ahead. I can wait in the queue. ” Rose said.
“You can’t. You’re pregnant, Rose. you need to eat.” Natalie said.
The girl looked between the ladies with a smile, “I can hold it. You can go for an hour. By then, the queue would have cleared.”
“Are you sure?” Rose hesitated, she looked at the many people who were in the shop and didn’t want to put the young lady in trouble.
“Yes, I am.” She assured them.
Nodding, Natalie grabbed Rose by the wrist and rushed out to the nearest restaurant for a quick meal.
Back in the shop, Zoe’s assistant Monica, had seen the entire exchange. Trying to please and win Zoe’s favor, she followed Amanda to the store room.
“I’m sorry this is a staff–only area.”
“Oh, I won’t be taking long. Just give me the dress you’re holding and I’ll be out of your hair.” Monica said.
Amanda shook her head, “This dress has already been paid for.”
“Has it? Where is the receipt?” Monica crossed her arms on her chest.
“I don’t think that’s necessary. You can pick from these other dresses so why not do that?”
Chloe, the store Manager noticed the tension and walked towards the two ladies, “Is there a problem?”
“Yes, actually there is! Your worker here is holding onto a dress that Zoe wants. It’s like you people want to shut down sooner than you can blink. Zoe has connections that can make you all go bankrupt!”
Chloe pressed her lips together. She knew what Monica was talking about and if the news articles were true, It meant that she had backing from Ethan Sinclair and that power was enough to put them out of business. 1-
“I don’t think you need to go that far, you can have the dress,” Chloe said.

“Give her the dress, Amanda!” Chloe said in a sharp tone.
Sighing in defeat, Amanda passed the dress to Monica who took it with a scoff. She walked back to Zoe who was on a couch sipping on wine while other workers rubbed her feet in a private room.
“Miss Zoe, when you become Mrs Sinclair please don’t forget me!” one girl said as she rubbed her shoulders.
“Don’t make assumptions, Lydia. It’s just the media trying to cook up stories!” Zoe said.
“Oh, you’re so humble. We all know Ethan favors you!” Angela added.
“Oh stop it you two!” Zoe sat up laughing lightly.
Monica walked in with the dress in her hands, “I got it, Zoe. Now you can be the best dressed Tomorrow!”
“You’re useful for a change, Monica,” Zoe smirked as she ran her perfectly manicured nails on the fabric.
An hour later….. D
Back at the restaurant, Rose and Natalie had just finished their meal.
“Why don’t you go see Ethan about that ticket while I pick up the dress since you already tried it on!” Natalie suggested.
It was past 3 PM and they would soon close the shop. Rose nodded with a smile,
“Thank You, Nat. See you at home.” 1
They hugged and went their separate ways. Since they had used Natalie’s car to go shopping, Rose had to take a cab to Ethan’s office.
Once she reached the building, Angelica was at her workstation, and like everyone else, she looked down on Rose and assumed she was forcing her way around Ethan.
“Hi Ar jelica, Is Ethan in?” Rose asked politely.
“He’s busy.” She responded without looking up.
Rose rolled her eyes and walked past her straight into Ethan’s office. Angelica’s face was filled with rage as she ran after her. 1
But it was too late, Rose was already inside the office.
Rushing in, her gaze fell on a frowning Ethan.
He was looking Extremely handsome in a charcoal grey suit as he stood near the long window that overlooked the city. He had his phone pressed against his ear but his eyes were devoid of emotion and his expression was unreadable.
It took a minute before he cut the line and turned to the two women,
“I’m sorry, Mr.Sinclair. I did try to stop her!” Angelica protested.
“Get out,” Ethan growled.
Angelica’s lips Curved into a half smile as she turned to Rose, “I did tell you he’s busy!”

Rose was taken aback, she didn’t expect him to stand up for her like that.
“Yes sir,” Angelica said in a low voice and walked out.
Ethan took a few steps forward, his gray eyes searching Rose’s face making her cheeks feel heated up.
Avoiding his gaze, she walked over to the Office couch and took a seat.
“Do you need something? You never come to my office very often.” Ethan said, leaning against his huge desk with his arms crossed against his chest.
“Yes, I do.”
“What do you
want?”
“I want a VIP ticket for tomorrow’s fashion show,” Rose said.
Her heart was beating wildly against her chest, she expected him to angrily dismiss her for Making a demand.
“Why? You always refuse to go to such public events unless my grandfather is present.” Ethan pointed o
“People change. I want to go for personal reasons, so if you won’t give me one, I’ll find someone else w will!” Rose said in a strong tone.
Ethan Watched her silently for a few seconds before smirking. Finally, he nodded and said,
“I see, I can get you the ticket but on one condition.”
Rose eyed him, she found it odd that Ethan was being playful with her. It was almost as if he found her amusing and that made her wonder what was running in his mind,
“Which is?”
He moved away from the table and walked over to the couch. He sat next to Rose and held her gaze before reaching forward to touch her cheek,
“You can only go if I’ll be the one by your side.”
