Chapter 40 ~ To punish

Ethan ran into the room and immediately untied Rose’s ankle from the bed. Her face was pale and her eyes were red from how much she cried. He securely wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. He wanted to mold their bodies into one, hoping she’d never know pain ever again,
I’m here, Rose. You’re safe.”
But the emotions hit Rose like a wave making her grab him by the shirt as she began to sob. “I almost died!”
“I would never allow that to happen, you’re safe. I’m sorry I came late” Ethan rubbed her back as he tried to soothe her pain.
Ethan had left the hospital after stabilizing Zoe and decided to call her. But her phone was picked up by someone else and it made him wonder if something had happened. He had rushed over to the Prints and Co. Company but didn’t find her.
After threatening to shut the entire company down, Mr. Jones, Willow’s uncle admitted that she had come through but she left. Ethan asked for the CCTV footage which showed that she was drugged.
The camera only showed what happened inside the office and they couldn’t tell who had delivered the glass. Ethan had called his best friend and tech genius Zane Harper to help trace the vehicle and they found it in less than ten minutes!

Ethan didn’t rush her, he was patient and waited for her to calm down as he kept on whispering soothing words in her ears. Eventually, she calmed down and stopped crying. He lifted her off the bed bridal style and said to Tom,
“Keep this bastard locked in. I’ll be back.”
His voice was cold and felt like a knife had cut through the air. Rose placed her head against Ethan’s chest as he walked to the car and placed her in the back. He helped her lay down on the two seats and took off his jacket and covered her. “I won’t be long.” He kissed her hair and walked back into the motel
room.
Without his jacket, Ethan only had his white button shirt and his black pants on. He grabbed the tie and removed it as he walked back into the room. He found Tom standing outside and gave him the tie before he said coldly,
“Open it.”
Tom felt a shiver run down his spine and felt sorry for Blake for trying to mess with Ethan Sinclair’s wife. He was scary even on a normal day, and seeing him angry made him quickly open the door and step back. Ethan pulled his sleeves upwards and stepped into the room and locked the door.
Blake was still on the floor from the time he had been thrown against the wall. Ethan stepped on his fingers and smashed them with his feet,
“Ah!” Blake cried as his gaze looked up. Fear crept into his eyes as the realization hit him. “Mr. Sinclair! Why are you doing this? I was just having fun!” He sat and grabbed onto his red fingers.

Ethan’s gaze darkened even further as leaned forward, “You were just having fun?” he asked, a coldness
in his tone.
“Yes! Why would you want to get- Ah!” He grabbed his face as a slap so hard hit him that his view was disoriented for a few seconds.
“You dare mess with me and question it?” Ethan growled as he landed a punch on his face his nose cracking in the process.
“My uncle won’t let this slide!” Blake cried in pain. His eye was so swollen from the beating that it was on the verge of closing.
“After I’m done with you, he’s the one I’m going after next,” Ethan said coldly as he stood.
Blake lay on the floor with broken bones and a swollen face, he opened the door and the police were already waiting. “We are sorry Mr. Sinclair. We will have him locked up right away!”
But Ethan’s jaw ticked, he was displeased as he looked at them. His grey eyes were cold and dark, “You dared to let such a criminal out on the loose? If I see him roaming the streets again, you’ll join him in jail right after I have your jobs stripped off!”
The policemen bowed. They couldn’t say anything because he was right. Blake was a criminal and he was only set free because of the bribes they received. “We are sorry sir!” They repeated and went in to cuff him before they took the manager too!
Ethan grabbed a cloth Tom had for him and cleaned his blood–stained hands. He took sanitizer and applied it before turning to Tom, “Everyone who knew about this should be dealt with.”
“Yes, Sir. Should I ask Alfred to come and drive you?”
“No, I’ll manage.” He responded.
After checking on Rose, he helped her sit and fastened her seat belt. She was still shaken but felt a bit better. She wrapped his Jacket tightly around herself before she asked in a hoarse voice, “Ethan?”
“Mmmm?” Ethan responded.

“Yes, we’re going home.”
His heart clenched and he didn’t understand why, but he felt like wrapping his arms around her and assuring her that no one would ever hurt her as long as he was alive. It took a strong will not to return inside and beat the manager to a pulp too. But seeing how pale Rose was, he knew he had to take her home.
He looked at how red Rose’s face was through the rearview mirror and his blood boiled. His knuckles were white from how hard he was gripping the wheel. He breathed in and out to calm himself down and started the ignition.
