Chapter 27 ~ For my eyes only
Ethan stepped forward, his face frowning, “What are you doing here?”
‘Is he so shocked to see me because he was hoping to have a private time with the love of his life?‘
Rose snorted, “I’m shopping obviously, it’s a store, what would I be doing?”
“Oh I see, well I-”
“Ethan! Have you seen this type?” Zoe shouted as she came to where Rose was standing, a smirk crossed her lips when she met Rose’s gaze, “Hello, Rose! I’m sorry, did I inconvenience you by asking for Ethan’s help?”
But Rose was way beyond Zoe’s manipulation and had no energy left to pretend.
“I’m having a conversation with my husband, I’d appreciate it if you excuse us!”
Zoe’s mouth hung open and her heart boiled. She fumed in her chest and wanted to wipe out Rose. But she quickly recovered and gave a fake smile, “Of course!”
Once she had stepped back, Rose glared at Ethan, “You delayed approving the payments for my exhibition materials because you went shopping with your precious Zoe?”
“Shit!” Ethan’s brows met as he looked at Rose apologetically, “Rose, I’m sorry. I meant to do it today but I forgot. I’ll do it as soon as I Finnish up here.”
“You mean shopping with Zoe?”
“Of course not. Just wait for me at home, I’ll come to you soon, I’ll ask Tom to approve the payments while I’m here.”
‘The love he has for her is unmatched. Nothing can ever come between them not even after that encounter with Grandpa!‘ Rose thought sadly.
“Rose looked around, and more people started entering the shop, she would rather not attract attention, so she nodded, “Okay.”
Even though her heart had been shattered into painful pieces. She was so hurt that Ethan never considered anything that had to do with her as urgent.
She had intended to cancel her shopping spree and decided to ask Alfred to get her what she needed and took a taxi back home.
Meanwhile, Ethan returned to Zoe and found her holding different pillows with a massive smile on her face. He had his usual frown on his face as he looked at her,
“Zoe, I didn’t come here to shop or pass time. I came to work and if you won’t tell me why you called me over, I’ll have to leave and go back to Finnish what I came to do.”
Zoe’s excitement dropped and tears clouded her eyes, I’ve been depressed Ethan, is it such a bad thing for
you to spend even a few seconds with me? Then please drop me off. I’m not in the shopping mood anymore!”
“I can’t take you home, I have something to do. I just told you that.” Ethan responded coldly.

Zoe couldn’t believe the man who worshiped the ground she walked on was suddenly rejecting her requests. She needed to use tricks to get him to see her and her heart boiled.
It wasn’t possible that he had begun to love Rose, she refused to believe it! She was meant to be his one and only, and she wasn’t going to lose him just like that, looking at him with teary eyes, Zoe sniffed.
“Fine then, I can take myself home.!”
Ethan took out his phone and dialed Tom’s number, “Get someone to buy Zoe some things for her apartment, it can be deducted from her penalty f*e that we owe her for terminating the contract.”
“Yes sir!” Tom responded and Ethan cut the line and looked up at Zoe with his usual unreadable expression,
“You wait here, someone will come help you!”
“But, Mr. Sinclair? Miss Smith has been feeling very low, and I’m afraid she might end up harming herself, would it be okay for you to just leave like this?” Monica, Zoe’s assistant said.
“Monica! Stop it, Ethan is busy. I’ll be fine.” Zoe sniffed again..
“Wait for Tom.” Was the only response Ethan gave and walked out.
Unknown to Rose, Ethan had been called to inspect the mall after an accident occurred in one of the main shops where a Ceiling almost collapsed. The damage was great hence the CEO himself was needed.
It was after he had finished the inspection and was walking around to ensure the others were maintained that he met Zoe, who insisted she comes with him because she required his help.
Zoe’s hands balled into fists as she watched Ethan’s back disappear from her view, her blood was boiling, and her veins were about to pop out from anger.
“I guess that’s the only choice you’ve left me with, Ethan! Because no matter what, you’ll be mine.” She mumbled under her breath.
The next morning, Rose had woken up early so she could visit the exhibition. She wasn’t feeling her best, but she had no choice. It was a relief that at least Ethan had signed the authorization for the payment.
She had reached downstairs when Ethan walked in wearing a T–shirt and shorts. He was sweaty and looked like he had gotten up early to work out.
“Good morning,” He said.
“Good morning,” Rose responded and was about to pass, but Ethan blocked her way.
“Where are you going dressed like that?” He raised his brow,
He stepped forward and Rose stepped backward until she hit her back against the wall.
“What’s wrong with my dress?”
Ethan touched her bare shoulder and the shorts she was wearing and looked at her, his gray eyes boring into her irises like he wanted to see her soul.

“Everything. You can wear this only when you’re with me. Come, I’ll help you change.”
Rose fumed and her eyes squinted into a small size. She angry that after what happened he had the audacity to tell her what to wear.
“Don’t touch me!”
“You’re my wife! I can touch you anytime I want. So, will you change on your own or do I need to force you?”
“You wouldn’t dare! Your rights as my husband Went the moment you chose your precious Zoe over me. Your actions can never affect me, Ethan so move.” 2
“Are you sure about that?” A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips and mischief in his eyes.
