Chapter 22 ~ Forgotten
Rose woke up the next day feeling like she had been hit by a truck. The medication she took was so strong that she was still feeling slightly dizzy.
The previous night’s events hit her and her face heated from blushing. It was the first time that Ethan had taken care of her and she wondered what made him change.
Sitting up slightly, she felt bile rise to her throat and rushed to the bathroom. She vomited and it felt like she was trying to push out her intestines through her throat and all the energy she had left was drained from her. She felt dizzy like the wall around her was spinning.
Grabbing onto the wall, she slowly walked to the bed and sat in it when there was a soft knock on the door,
“Come in,” Rose said but her voice came out weak.
Amanda walked in and almost dropped the tray she was holding at the sight of how pale Rose was, “Mrs. Sinclair, you look very sick. We need to take you to the hospital!”
“No, I’m fine. I just need to rest.” Rose remembered her doctor telling Her that pregnancy took women differently and some it might make them sick during the early months but it was nothing to worry about. “This is not nothing, If Mr.Sinclair saw you like this he’d fire us!” Amanda said while pulling out her phone. Rose couldn’t argue with stubborn Amanda and she had no strength left to fight her.
“You should be careful with the type of medication you take, it’s a good thing you came here on time otherwise you would have lost the child. I only left a cream for a reason” Dr. Cavin, their family doctor said.
Rose felt a lump form in her chest and her heartstrings contricted. It was true she wasn’t careful enough and Ethan didn’t know about the pregnancy so he couldn’t be careful either.
‘Maybe I should tell him today. A thought crossed her.
“I understand, Doctor. Thank you so much.” Rose responded.
She was in bed with a canular on her hand and was feeling much better.
“I’ll let Mr.Sinclair know so he can come take you home.” Dr.Cavin said.
“No, I can go on my own I’m feeling better really. He must be in an important meeting I don’t want to disturb him.” Rose said.
Dr. Cavin hesitated because he feared Ethan and was afraid the worst would happen To his career if he kept such vital information.
“Please, also don’t tell him about the pregnancy yet. I want him to hear it from me in a special way.” Rose pleaded and Dr. Cavin nodded at that with understanding.
“Young love birds and their funny way of announcing their pregnancy!” He chuckled as he walked out leaving Rose to sigh in relief.

She was brought by Alfred who was still standing outside when Rose stepped out, “Are you better madam?”
“Yes, it was just an allergic reaction. ” Rose lied and walked outside where Alfred held the door open for
her.
She had just sat When her phone rang and the ID flashed Ethan.
Her heart swelled and she felt warmth spread through her. She wondered if he was calling her because he heard she wasn’t feeling well and wanted to check on her.
Sliding right, Rose picked up the call, “Hello, I’ve-”
“WHERE ARE YOU?!” came Ethan’s cold tone that cut her off.
“Had something happened?” Rose asked in a worried tone. If her memory served her right, then they had not argued about anything so she wondered why he was sounding so cold and distant.
“I don’t have time for your games, if you’re not serious about this, then tell Grandpa to engage someone else so you don’t waste people’s time!”
Rose’s brows creased and she wondered if she had missed an important meeting then it dawned on her, the S& partners group was launching a new branch that had to do with jewelry and Anderson asked Rose to take the front role so they Could make a collaboration.
“I’m sorry, Ethan. I wasn’t-”
“I don’t want to hear your excuses. Just get here right now!” Ethan growled into the phone and cut the line.
Rose sighed as she asked Alfred to go to the S & Partners headquarters.
A few minutes later, Rose arrived and found the launch was in full swing with media houses present.
Ethan was standing at the entrance looking as cold as ever. The moment she stepped out of the car, he grabbed her by the arm and took her to a secluded corner where no one could see them,

Alfred nodded and walked inside to grab the new pair of shoes. Once both were out of earshot, Zoe put her foot down and walked toward Rose with a smirk on her face,
Rose wasn’t even shocked to see that Zoe Had faked the Injury to get sympathy from Ethan. But it hurt that he judged her without even hearing her out. She was sick and it wasn’t intentional. Even as she stood, she wasn’t feeling herself and just wanted to lie down but was afraid Ethan would get even angrier, so she remained strong.
Hearing Zoe was going to be the new face of the new line broke her into pieces and all the hope she had was thrown out the window. ‘I guess the love he has for her is unmatched!‘
Zoe stepped forward and whispered in Rose’s ear,
“Now you see, that I’ll always be the woman he loves and he will always pick me. So, stop trying and just leave us to be happy! You’ll only get hurt!” Zoe smirked.
