“A yes is not enough, I want a promise.” Anderson insisted as he held Rose’s gaze.
“I promise Grandpa, I won’t divorce him.” She laughed
“Wonderful!” Anderson said as he sat up and stood. “I can’t miss my favorite drama!”
“Grandpa? Were you not struggling to breathe a few minutes ago?” Rose asked as she began to doubt if he was really sick or if it was a trick to get him and Ethan to visit.
“I’m now feeling better. Come, you’ll love it too! Today’s episode is going to be so good!” Anderson chuckled and Rose shook her head in disbelief as she walked along beside him.
A few days later…..
Rose had been buried in her work especially since her jewelry exhibition date was getting closer. She had spent late nights working on her new designs and making sure the stones selected were the perfect fit. The upcoming exhibition was going to be her turning point so she wanted it all to be perfect.
Feeling tired, Rose laid back in her chair at the office and read through the latest trends to keep her mind refreshed. It was then that she remembered she owed Mason a ticket and dinner.
The sitting arrangements had been completed and she had secured him a front role sit like she had promised. She scrolled through the contacts and wrote him a text.
ROSE: [Hey Mason, are you busy this Friday night?]
It showed immediate blue ticks and she got a response almost immediately,
MASON:[ Hey Rose, No. I’m not.]
ROSE: [Great, I’d like to treat you to dinner. I’m sorry it won’t be home cooked so is a restaurant fine?]
MASON: [No worries, I’m an easy man to please. That sounds perfect, just tell me where and I’ll be there.]
ROSE: [Great, I’ll send you the details tomorrow once I make a reservation. 😉]
MASON: [I’ll be waiting. ;-0“]
Mason was in a meeting when he received a message from Rose and was shocked at first. He thought it was ju
just another person texting and was about to turn off the phone when he saw that it was actually Rose, his lips turned up into a smile
What Rose didn’t know was that Mason had a crush on her since they were young all the way until university. He was always a quiet guy who rarely spoke to other kids but because his father was extremely rich, no one bothered him. He had hoped to gain the courage to ask Rose out, but every time he tried, something came up.
When he heard Rose had gotten married three years ago, his heart had been shattered, and decided to go abroad so he could keep himself busy. But when he saw the news trending of Ethan with Zoe, he came right back to be there for her.
Mason knew about Ethan’s love for Zoe because they were all at the same school and were from the same circle since they were all rich kids.

Chapter 15–She’n my wife
He planned to just watch on the sidelines but upon receiving the invitation, his heart couldn’t help but flutter and wonder if this was a sign.
“Mr. Chen?” The vice president pulled Mason back to the board room.
Mason looked up, I’ll need to review it once again, send it to my office.” He responded referring to the project proposal.
“Noted Sir.”
Mason went back to staring at the text and hoped the clock would move faster so he could meet Rose quickly.
“I honestly thought it would be awkward and we wouldn’t have anything to talk about!” Rose said in between fits of laughter.
“A conversation with you is easy, Rose.” Mason flashed her his smile.
Mason was of Asian Origin and was incredibly handsome with eyes that shut when he smiled. He was actually considered the second most sought–after Ethan.
“Well I’m glad we could catch up, I actually brought you something.” Rose reached into her bag and pulled out the ticket and slid it on the table.
Just as Mason was reaching for it, Zoe was walking into the same restaurant with Ethan and was clinging to him like and koala. Her eyes landed on Rose and she gasped,
“Isn’t that Rose holding hands with that guy?” She pointed to where Rose sat.
Ethan’s jaw ticked and his blood boiled when his gaze landed on Rose. She was looking beautiful in a red dress with her hair loosened into curls. ‘She’s never looked that good for me! So I was right, is this why she wanted to divorce me?” he clenched his fists at his side as his mood darkened.
From the angle where they were standing, it looked like Rose was holding hands with Mason as she laughed at what he said. There was a new light in Rose’s eyes, a light Ethan had never seen. This new side was new for him, she looked carefree as opposed to how she was around him, she was always reserved like she was walking on eggshells.
“Let’s go say hi!” Zoe pulled Ethan forward and before he could argue, he was already at her table.
Mason took the ticket and placed it in his pocket when Rose looked up and was shocked to see who was standing at their table. Zoe’s arm was locked in Ethan’s while he placed both his hands in his pockets.
Rose felt a stab to her chest but she tried her best to cover it, not wanting Mason to see her darkened mood. What was a great night for Rose suddenly turned into something else.
“Mason?” Zoe chipped happily, “I didn’t know you were back! Oh my, it’s been so long.”
“Hello, Zoe,” Mason responded in a clipped tone.
Ethan was staring holes into Rose the entire time and despite feeling the heat of his gaze, Rose refused to meet his gaze, she was afraid she would be unable to hold it together and break down especially since she was now hanging by a thread.

“Hello, Zoe, Ethan,” Rose acknowledged, trying to avoid the awkwardness.

Ethan felt like pulling Rose from where she sat so she could create as much distance between her and Mason as possible.
Zoe grabbed the menu, “Ethan, do you think the crabs in this place are good? I don’t know what I should get. She leaned closer to him.
Rose wanted the ground to swallow her, the last thing she wanted was for Zoe to rub Ethan in her face and it made her disappointed in Ethan even more. Rose’s hands were shaking as she grabbed a glass of water when she accidentally spilled it.
“Are you okay?” Mason quickly stood and pulled out a white cloth to clean Rose’s hands before using another one to stop the water from spilling over.
Ethan’s heart boiled and his gaze darkened, if looks could kill, Mason would have been long gone. Zoe was about to ask a question when Ethan glared at her, shutting her up with his look.
He stood abruptly feeling suffocated, “I think we can call it a night!” He said through clenched teeth.
“But Ethan!” Zoe’s annoying voice reached Rose’s ears, “I haven’t even received my food yet.”
“You can wait for it then. I’m taking Rose home.” Ethan said and left no room for discussion
Rose looked up, shock on her face, what was Ethan thinking, “I came with Mason, you can take Zoe back home.”
“I’m not Zoe’s husband. I’m your husband and you’re my wife. I can’t let another man take you home. Zoe can go with Mason since they still have a lot to catch up on. I’m sure that won’t be a problem since they’re already old friends.”
Everyone’s jaws were on the floor, Rose wondered why Ethan was suddenly acting so possessive towards her. She was about to argue when he pulled her chair out gripped her wrist firmly and said in a deep voice void of any emotion,
“Let’s go!”
