Bianca’s heart seemed to leap into her throat as Denzel opened the envelope and pulled out a document. As his eyes scanned the contents, his previously calm expression shifted into one of utter disbelief and fury.
Rebecca, clearly concerned, asked, “Denzel, what’s going on?”
Instead of responding directly to Rebecca, Denzel handed Bianca the document. It was clear he was doing his best to control his emotions. “Explain this. What’s going on?”
Bianca, growing more frantic by the second upon seeing the legal letter, fell off the couch in a rush. “Dad, I didn’t mean to she stammered.
Tears began streaming down her face as panic set in. Rebecca, even more confused, asked again, “Denzel, what’s the matter?”
“Read it for yourself.” Denzel handed the document to her, his voice taut with anger.
As Rebecca read the contents, her face went pale. “Mr. Hartley? Bianca, how could you have ruined his reputation?”
By now, Bianca was completely unraveling, her tears flowing freely. “It’s about Elysia. That day, I ran into them at the school gate. I didn’t know who he was. I thought he was Elysia’s sugar daddy and secretly filmed a video.”
“And then what?” Denzel’s voice was sharp with frustration. “If all you did was filming a video and didn’t take further action. do you really think he would send us a lawyer’s letter accusing you of ruining his reputation?”
“Dad, I swear I didn’t mean to. I–I just wanted to expose Elysia for what she really is, so I posted the video on the school forum. I didn’t think it would blow up like this,” Bianca said, her voice cracking with distress.
With a loud slap, Denzel’s hand landed across Bianca’s face.
Bianca, completely unprepared, was knocked to the ground, her head hitting the corner of the table with a sharp thud.
Rebecca immediately set the lawyer’s letter aside and rushed to help Bianca. Denzel, though worried, pointed at Bianca and snapped, “Is this how I teach you? To be so ignorant of what is right or wrong? To spread lies?”
Denzel’s anger flared. “If this were the truth, fine. But it’s not. Tell me honestly. Did you do this out of jealousy because Elysia scored first?
“Bianca, ruining someone’s reputation is unforgivable. I’ve always lived with integrity. How could I have raised you to be so disrespectful?”
Denzel clutched his chest, feeling the weight of his anger. Rebecca, seeing Denzel’s distress, hurriedly moved beside Denzel gently rubbing his chest to calm Denzel down. “Denzel, please, try to calm down.”
Rebecca’s face was tight with concern, her brows knitted together in worry.

“What should we do now?” Rebecca asked, her voice tinged with concern.

“Looking at Twitter, it seems the Hartley family is stepping in to defend Elysia too. We need to apologize to her. If she’s willing to forgive us, maybe this whole thing will die down,” Denzel said, the frustration evident in his tone.
He glanced helplessly at Bianca, still lying on the floor. “Where is Elysia staying now?”
“I don’t know.” Bianca shook her head.

Denzel, his chest tight with anger, turned to the assistant standing nearby. “Find out where Elysia is staying
“Yes, Mr. Janssen.” The assistant nodded and immediately stepped aside to make a call.
Denzel leaned against the couch, clenching his fist, repeatedly hitting his forehead in frustration. Clearly, he was very furious.
Rebecca moved closer, trying to soothe him. After a few moments, the assistant finished the call and returned. ‘Mr. Janssen, I couldn’t find Elysia’s exact address. However, I was told that Mr. Evans picked her up this morning. They are currently staying at the Eveona Hotel.”
“Mr. Evans came?” Denzel raised an eyebrow, then sighed, realizing it made sense. Given how big of a scene the Evans family was making, they must have come to Sivro to witness everything firsthand.
Denzel’s expression darkened as he stood up. “We’re going to the Eveona Hotel right now.”
Rebecca linked her arm with Denzel’s, and the assistant followed closely behind. After walking a few steps, Denzel stopped when he noticed Bianca hadn’t followed them. “What are you waiting for? You caused this mess, and now you expect us to clean it up?”
Bianca snapped out of her daze and quickly scrambled to her feet, following them without another word.
The car pulled up in front of the Eveona Hotel. Denzel dialed Fabian’s number.
When Fabian saw the unfamiliar phone number, he raised an eyebrow. He glanced briefly toward the bedroom, then stood up and walked to the balcony before picking up the phone. “Hello?”
“Mr. Evans, this is Denzel. I’m downstairs at the Eveona Hotel. I’m aware of everything regarding the school incident, and it was Bianca’s fault. Would it be possible for me to come up and apologize to Ms. Evans?” Denzel asked, his tone respectful.
“It’s not convenient,” Fabian replied, his voice calm and firm.
“Mr. Evans, I-” Denzel began, but he was immediately cut off.
Fabian lowered his voice intentionally, careful not to wake Elysia in the bedroom. “Elysia is already asleep. Mr. Janssen, do you want me to wake her up?”
“No, Mr. Evans, you misunderstood. Since Ms. Evans is asleep, I won’t disturb her. We’ll apologize to her tomorrow,” Denzel said quickly.
Fabian didn’t say another word and simply ended the call.
Bianca, watching her father grovel on the phone, felt a bitter lump in her throat. Tears started to well up again. “Dad, let’s go home.”
“Go home?” Denzel snorted. “What’s wrong? Can’t handle it now? He just turned me down, and you’re falling apart? When you posted those comments on the forum, did you ever think that Ms. Evans might not be able to handle it?”
Rebecca, holding Bianca close, nodded. “Denzel’s right. Bianca, you messed up, and you need to own it us, we have to take it.

“As parents, we know how important our daughter’s reputation is. Bianca, if one day someone treats you this way, neither Denzel nor I would let it slide.”
Bianca, hearing their words, felt her tears spill over. “Mom, I’m sorry.”
“Enough. Crying won’t solve anything. We’ll stay here for now. Tomorrow morning, we’ll go and apologize to Elysia. Let’s try to earn their forgiveness,” Denzel said firmly.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, and Elysia stretched lazily, basking in the warmth.

When she stepped out of her room, Fabian was sitting on the couch with his back to her, holding a book in his left hand and lifting his coffee cup to take a small sip with his right hand.
The scene was peaceful and harmonious.
Elysia crept up behind him, intending to startle him, but he remained unbothered. “Fabian, you’re no fun at all,” Elysia said with a grin.
“Then what would make it fun?” Fabian asked, lowering his book and looking at her with a relaxed smile.
“At least you should look a little surprised,” she said, her tone playful.
“Alright, let’s try again, Fabian replied, amused, setting his book down.
