Chapter 26
Over the next two years, Iris celebrated the Wolf Moon Festival in Lunaris. Each year, the Silver pack would cross territories to join them in celebration, their pack bonds growing stronger with
time.
When Sarah’s parents decided to settle in Lunaris territory, Sarah asked if Iris would stay too. It wasn’t a decision Iris made lightly.
Her close friends back in North Ridge had all formed their own pack bonds through marriage, her parents remained estranged, and she held no territory claims there. Both professionally and
ersonally, Lunaris felt more like home.
She began pursuing territory citizenship while building her career, the Silver pack supporting her through every challenge. Her talent for capturing moon–magic through photography had earned her enough during her studies to open a small studio, which grew steadily over the next two years.
After four years, Iris earned her permanent territory rights. During her brief return to North Ridge to finalize paperwork, she reunited with old pack friends.
Time had changed them all, but their bond remained strong. Inevitably, conversation turned to
matters of the heart.
Iris spoke openly about her life. “I dated twice in the early years, but they weren’t meant to be. My. current mate is two years younger, but his wolf is old and wise…”
She shared photos of herself with a handsome wolf, their compatibility evident in their matched stances and shared smiles. Her friends‘ approval showed in their expressions.
Then someone mentioned Reed Sullivan.
“Have you heard? Reed passed into the spirit realm.”
The news made Iris’s wolf stir uneasily. Focused on her new life, she’d rarely thought about North Ridge affairs. Her time with Reed felt like a distant dream, his image faded like an old photograph.
She’d assumed he would eventually move on, lead his pack, live his life across the ocean. His death
was unexpected.
The room grew quiet, her friends watching for signs of distress.
Seeing only surprise in her scent, they continued. “We heard it was Scarlett who ended him – revenge.

for his cruelty. A fitting end for an Alpha who abused his power.”
After so much time, Iris barely remembered scarlett’s full name. Iter only lasting memory was of the “accident” that had nearly claimed her life.
Learning the fate of the two wolves who had redirected her life’s path stirred a moment of reflection, but nothing more,
They were figures from another life, another time
Like moon shadows at dawn, they faded away, leaving no trace behind.
