Chapter 5
The vase shattered at Logan’s feet, shards scattering across the floor.
His legs buckled, and with a loud thud, he dropped to his knees.
Nadia and Ethan froze, trembling like leaves in the wind, too terrified to say a word.
Grandma Ruth pointed her cane at Logan, then turned to me.
“Jessica, hear me loud and clear: from this moment on, this house is yours. If anyone dares to cross
- ou. I’ll break their legs myself!”
Her gaze shifted to Nadia, her eyes sharp and cold.
“Especially you! Since when did you think you had the right to make the rules in this family?”
I looked at Grandma, my heart heavy with emotion.
She was just as much a victim in all of this–a mother who lost her daughter and spent years being deceived by Logan’s lies.
And me?
It wasn’t until my last moments in my previous life that I finally understood the truth.
I reached into my bag and pulled out a document, handing it to Grandma.
Her hands trembled as she unfolded it. Her face morphed from shock to rage, and finally, profound
grief.
She hurled the document at Logan’s face, her voice trembling with anger.
“You! How dare you deceive my daughter!”
Logan scrambled to pick up the papers, skimming them with shaky hands.
His face turned ghostly pale as the truth stared back at him.
It was the DNA test I had conducted after my rebirth, proving undeniably that Logan was Nadia’s biological father.

“You. How. How did you find out?”
hogan stammered, pointing at me, his voice quivering with fear.
Grandma slammed her cane against the floor, her voice booming with fury.
“The only reason my daughter married you was because she thought you were honest! She thought
you’d treat Jessica well!”
“She knew she already had a daughter, so she allowed you to bring your son into the marriage, didn’t she? And she treated him kindly, didn’t she?”

“You both agreed–one child each. But you… you heartless snake! You lied to my daughter! If she had Shown you already had a daughter, she never would’ve married you!”
Nadia, realizing the game was up, snapped and screamed.
“So what?! My dad worked for this family! Once they were married, I became part of this family too! What’s wrong with that?”
Ethan stepped forward to stand by his sister, defiance written all over his face.
“You even admitted it–your daughter treated me well.”
“So what if I’m not her biological child? I’m still a Harrington now, and the Harrington Group will be mine one day!”
I scoffed at their audacity, my voice cutting through the air like ice.
“Oh, your little scheme is crystal clear, and guess what? The whole country is hearing it loud and
clear!”
“You ‘accidentally‘ lost me, then brought your real daughter into this house under the guise of fifting
the void.”
“All the while, you were just waiting for the day you could claim everything my mother worked for.”
At the word “lost,” Grandma visibly flinched.
Her whole body trembled as she turned to me, disbelief etched into her face.
“Jessica… What did you just say? Lost you?”
The evidence was circumstantial for now, but I was determined to uncover the truth.

Igently patted Grandma’s hand, giving her a reassuring look.
“Grandma, trust me. I’ll make sure they pay for what they’ve done.”
Grandma turned back to Logan, her voice slow and deliberate, every word laced with venom. “You are no longer part of this family. Get out. Now.”
Logan’s expression twisted into fury, and he jabbed his finger at Grandma.
“You old hag! You think you can just throw me out? I married your daughter legally! You can’t do
this!”
“And don’t forget–when she died, half of her estate legally became mine!”
Grandma opened her mouth to argue, but I quickly stepped in, gently holding her back.
“It’s okay, Grandma,” I said softly.
“He won’t get a penny.”
