Chapter 4
Antonio, who was surrounded by admirers, looked down at me in disbelief.
I pushed myself up from the ground, gritting my teeth against the pain, and slowly stood up, a smirk playing on my lips.
The kindergarten principal hurried over, frowning and speaking to me with a serious tone, “Please don’t be stubborn.
“Apologize to Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman now. Or you’ll be toast!”
I shook my head at the principal, and she heaved a sigh.
“I know you’re not the ty Purchase completed face it. Those big corporations have way too much power for you to mess with!”
When she finished, the suited guys from the business cars were only a few steps away from the event area.
The onlookers, Antonio’s yes–men, and the parents with their phone cameras on all seemed excited, like they were about to watch a great show.
They were making faces and gloating, looking at me with schadenfreude.
Antonio, however, stepped forward, lowering his voice and staring at me as he asked, “Did you bring these people?
“Are you that vindictive, wanting to make a big deal out of this?!

“Don’t forget, I’m the general manager now. I’m their boss!”
I smiled at him and said, “Oh yeah? Let’s wait and see.”
Sophia, seeing me talking to Antonio, hurried over, still with that fake sweet smile on her face.
“Antonio, I know you think I’ve been treated unfairly, and you’ve brought the whole legal team to support me,” she said.
“But I was partly to blame, too. Just let it go.”
As she talked, she looked all innocent, making sure Antonio saw the red mark on her face from where I had slapped her.
Jacob reached out to push me, yelling, “You’re bullying my mom! Soon, my dad’s subordinates will beat you up!”
I took a step back on purpose.
Losing his balance, Jacob stumbled forward and fell to the ground with a thud. His forehead swelled up badly.
“What are you doing, bullying a kid?! What if he gets hurt?” Antonio exclaimed, his eyes wide with anger.
I couldn’t help but retort, “Antonio, are you blind?”
Sophia quickly picked Jacob up, sobbing.
“He’s just a kid, and he barely pushed you. Why did you have to be so rough?!
“Grace, take out your anger on me. Jacob didn’t do anything wrong!”

After hearing what Sophia said, Antonio got so enraged that he wanted to beat me up.
Just then, the guys in suits had already walked up to us.
The onlookers were all waiting for me to be taken down by the security guards.
They were expecting Antonio to teach me a good lesson so that Sophia would feel better.
But then the buff bodyguard stepped right in front of me.
He grabbed Antonio’s outstretched arm and then sent him flying.
Everyone was slack–jawed.
This wasn’t how they thought it would go!
Antonio, getting his balance back, yelled at the bodyguard, “Are you crazy?!
“I’m the general manager, the one who signs your paychecks!”
The sycophants who had just flattered Antonio were now. looking back and forth between me and Antonio, asking, “Mr. Kaufman, did these guys get it wrong?”
Everyone else seemed to wake up from a dream, glancing at each other, confused by the unfolding scene.
Sophia, looking really upset, clung to Antonio.
“Aren’t you the general manager of the Sunwing Group? You have to stand up for Jacob.”
I thought, “She’s still sure that these men are here because of Antonio? What a fool!”
Her eyes were full of both anger and triumph, totally different from her aggrieved look just now.
Just then, another group of fancy suited men came our way, with the one in front wearing gold–rimmed glasses.
It was Luke, the head of the Legal Department of the Sunwing Group.
Someone with legal expertise quickly recognized him.
“That’s a big deal in law. Didn’t expect we would get to see him in person today!”
“I’ve heard he’s won every case he’s taken for five years. straight!”
Luke walked right past Antonio like he didn’t even exist and greeted me with respect, “Ms. Parrish, everything has been done as per your request.”
His voice wasn’t loud, but everyone around could hear him, and they all looked at me, surprised.
“What? Did I hear that right?”
“Aren’t these people from the Sunwing Group? Isn’t Antonio the general manager there? Why are they on Grace’s side?”
The live–streamer was pumped. “Hey, this story just took a turn!”
Sophia looked a bit flustered, but she was trying to play it cool.

“Antonio, what’s going on here? Didn’t you bring these people?”
Antonio ignored her and turned to talk to me instead.
He whispered, low and serious, “You want to make this messier for both of us?
“I’m Leah’s dad, and she’s gonna be upset.”
Then he barked out orders, “Get these people out of here!
“You leave too, and we’ll sort this out at home!
“Grace, stop causing trouble!”
I spoke up, measured and firm, “You’ve got a lot of nerve to use Leah as an excuse! You don’t deserve to be her dad.”
I then tore my eyes away from Antonio and looked around at
everyone.
“Everything that has happened today is going to be settled,” I declared, loud and strong.
