Chapter 11 Don’t Be Afraid of Him
I froze.
That voice! That laugh!
Mason?
What terrible luck I had! Flow was it that every time I turned around, I ran into Mason?
This was it. I was really done for now.
Mason, in his sharp suit, stood not far away, exuding an air of cold authority. Just one glance from him was enough to make anyone feel the pressure of his presence. Where once he was humble and docile, now there was nothing but dominance. He looked like Someone no one dared to challenge.
I couldn’t help but marvel at the changes in him. He looked like a completely different person. Jasmine had always despised Mason. She would rant about him endlessly whenever his name
came up.
But now, perhaps intimidated by the sheer force of his presence, she hadn’t uttered a single word. Hudson chuckled lightly.“Mason, aren’t you supposed to be at the hospital?”
Huh?
Mason had gone to the hospital? Was he injured?
I couldn’t help but glance him over. But there was no visible injury on him. It made sense, though. He had looked perfectly healthy last night.
That could only mean one thing.
The woman he had adorned was in the hospital, and he had to be wit
het
No wonder he had been so horny recently. He must have been craving intimacy, but she couldn’t satisfy him due to her condition.
While I was lost in thought, Mason was already walking toward us.
His dark gaze locked onto me, sending a chill down my spine.
I lowered my head, too afraid to even explain myself.
Jasmine leaned in close, whispering in my ear.“Is this the same Mason we used to bully? He has changed so much. I’m afraid to even look at him. This is what success does to a person.
Not just his aura!
Everything about him had changed, his body, his appearance, his presence–everything.* I forced an awkward smile at Jasmine and said nothing.
Mason stared at me coldly for a while before turning to Hudson, continuing the conversation from before.“You said you’d help her pay off her debts. So, what position do you think you’re in
to do that?”
Hudson
gave me a soft look, his tone calm.“If Aria wants me to help her, then I’ll do it in whatever way she wants.”

“Well.”
Mason let out a cold laugh.
It was clear that he was angry.
Before I could say anything, he turned his gaze on me.“And what about you? What do you want him to be to help you pay this debt?”
His eyes were chillingly cold. Even though his smile seemed friendly, there was nothing warm about it.
My heart skipped a beat. I quickly said, “Don’t misunderstand. I never asked him to pay my debe Hudson said, “Aria, don’t be afraid of him. I’m here for you, If you don’t want to owe him anything, I’ll pay it off. I don’t care how much it costs me.”
That’s right! It was him who took advantage of you back then. If it weren’t for him, you and Hudson would…”
Jasmine was complaining when Mason suddenly glanced at her,
Immediately, her voice lowered, until it was completely silent.
It wasn’t hard to understand why Jasmine had suddenly quieted down. Mason’s stare was truly terrifying.
Under the table, Jasmine tugged at my hand and whispered, “Is this really Mason? Are you sure he’s not Mason’s lost twin brother?”
I couldn’t help but feel awkward.
Jasmine’s train of thought was even more offbeat than mine.
Just as the tension in the air became unbearable, Hudson suddenly turned to Mason.“Well, tell us. How much have you paid for her family? If I hadn’t arrived late, this debt wouldn’t even be yours to pay.”
“Oh, really?” Mason sneered.“If it wasn’t mine, it certainly wouldn’t be yours either.
Hudson was confident.“You don’t know for sure. If I’d been here, Aria would have come to me
first.”
Would I have gone to Hudson for help?
I wasn’t sure.
Hypothetical questions never had clear answers.
Mason’s face darkened further.
His long fingers tapped the edge of the table, almost absentmindedly, but it sent a sharp chill through the room.
The tension was unbearable, the pressure mounting.
With each tap, my heart skipped a beat.
I couldn’t help but reach out to grab his arm, trying to lighten the mood with a forced smile. “Have you had your meal? How about we go home? I cooked for you today.”
Mason looked at me blankly, his tone laced with sarcasm.
“Go home? You’re always so eager to run off to meet men when I’m not around. Are you really

Willing to go back now
The words left me speechless
After all, from his perspective, it had seemed exactly that way
I couldn’t even offer an explanation without sounding insincere
Mason pushed my hand away and said with a half mile,I’m sure I’m a disturbance to your gathering”
With that, he shot me a dark, lingering look before walking, awx
His tall figure radiated an unmistakable chill
A panic seized my chest, and instinctively, I tried to follow him.
Hudson grabbed my arm.“Aria, why do you have to beg him like that? You’ve never been like this Before”
Jasmine sighed, “Don’t blame her. It’s not her fault. Look at Mason now. He’s really intimidating And on top of that, Aria owes him money,”
“How much? I’ll pay it”
Hudson’s gaze was heavy as he looked at me.
Even after I told him I had feelings for Mason, it seemed like he still held on to some hope for me.
That thought made my heart twist.
I gently pulled his hand away, looking at him seriously.“Hudson, I really appreciate everything, but this is between me and him. I’d rather you not get involved, okay? Hudson stepped back, a disappointed breath escaping him. He looked at me, his voice softer than before. “You said you liked him, but does he like you back? Do you even know about the other woman in his life?”
1 froze. Hudson knew about her?
Hudson continued, his tone heavy with concern.“She’s important to him, special. Ther who compares to her.”
“You mean… Rosalie?”
o one
Hudson’s face showed surprise, but the disappointment was clear.“So you know about her. Then why are you still in love with him, Aria.”
Hudson’s hands gripped my shoulders urgently.“Listen to me, cut all ties with him. I don’t want to see you fall into an irreversible situation.”
Jasmine nodded in agreement from beside us.
My mind was a mess, and Hudson’s words about that woman being so special kept echoing in my mind.
If she was so important, why did Mason still turn to me?
Was it just to humiliate me?
I pulled Hudson’s hand off me and whispered, “Don’t worry about me. I won’t end up there. I won’t.”
Promises were easy to make, but keeping them was another story.

As I hurried out of the restaurant, I was relieved to see Mason’s car still parked onside.
Í brushed off the chaotic thoughts and quickly got into the car, flashing him an almost shameless grin.“Still waiting for me?”
He shot me a side glance, his tone flat.
