Chapter 29 Disrupted Plans
Samuel glanced at him coldly before saying, “Someone delivered it to me anonymously!”
However, Samuel had not received any threatening calls.

Samuel figured that whoever was behind this had merely wanted to tell him about Chandler and Gillian’s close relationship.
Chandler narrowed his eyes dangerously.
Someone has been secretly taking photos of me, and even sent these photos to my father? Are they treating me like I’m not even here?
Seeing Chandler’s expression, Samuel adjusted his gold–rimmed glasses and said, “Take care of this matter yourself. You should know that your mother and grandfather both like Clarissa. Besides, even if you and Clarissa get divorced, our family will never approve of Gillian. Think about what you should do carefully.”
Chandler nodded without saying anything.
He did not try to explain to his father that it was all a misunderstanding and that things were over between him and Gillian.
As for Clarissa…
All of a sudden, a thought crossed Chandler’s mind. Was Clarissa determined to get a divorce because she had misunderstood too?
It didn’t matter.
No matter what, there was no way he would fall in love with Clarissa.
As such, if Clarissa thought that divorce was a good idea, Chandler didn’t mind.
After all, they’d already agreed on a timeline of three months. Once he’d sorted out things among his family, they could get a divorce.
However…
Now, Clarissa was pregnant with his baby, a direct descendant of their family. Chandler knew his grandfather would never agree to their divorce.
Chandler was unable to pinpoint why he was unhappy with Clarissa.
He chalked it all up to her attitude.
Clarissa always seemed aloof, as if she didn’t think much of him.
As time went on, he also felt that there was no point in forcing themselves to accept these things.
While Chandler wasn’t the kind of person who would just settle for something or someone he didn’t like, the idea of divorce didn’t sit right with him either.
“Alright, go in and see Clarissa.”

After saying that, Samuel turned and headed toward the hospital ward.
Chandler threw the photo into the trash and was about to follow his father.
Since Leo was here, Chandler still had to go through the motions.
However, he had barely taken a few steps when his phone rang in his pocket.

“Mr. Moreno, we’ve found them. They’re in the basement at Willowbrook Ranch. The voice over the phone said.
Chandler’s eyes narrowed and he answered, “Alright, I’ll be right there.
“There’s something else…”
Chandler responded, “What is it?”
“Mr. Jerry is also looking into this matter.”
Jerry Wood?
Chandler raised an eyebrow slightly before he said, “Alright, I got it.”
Samuel paused when he heard Chandler on the phone. Is something wrong?” Samuel asked.
Chandler answered, “Yes, there’s something urgent I need to go and take care of.”
“Go ahead then, I’ll let Clarissa know,” Samuel said. Samuel had always been rigid and prioritized work over everything else.
Clarissa stayed in the hospital for less than a day. Lydia had checked with Nathan multiple times to confirm that Clarissa was okay before they allowed her to be discharged.
Leo had wanted Clarissa to return home with him, but Clarissa had politely turned him down.
Lydia had sided with Clarissa on this matter, probably hoping to use this as an opportunity for Clarissa and Chandler to patch things up.
Ultimately, Leo had agreed to let her return to the residence she shared with Chandler.
However, Leo had only agreed on the condition that Chandler and Clarissa return home to have dinner with him once a week.
Clarissa had agreed.
If we can’t go, I’ll just blame it on Chandler.
However, Clarissa didn’t return to the residence she shared with Chandler. Instead, she had gone to Emily’s place.
The biometric records at Northgate Residences had not been updated, so she couldn’t go back there even if she wanted to.
In the bedroom, Clarissa wrapped a blanket tightly around her.

Next to her, Emily was sitting in the exact same way, a facial mask plastered on her face.
“So, what’s the plan?” Emily asked, looking listless.

When Clarissa had told Emily about her pregnancy, Emily had been so excited she’d almost blown the roof off.
Clarissa shook her head and said, “I don’t know.”
Clarissa had always longed for a child. However, this was the wrong time for her to be
pregnant.
“Are you … still going to divorce Chandler?” Emily asked. Before this, the divorce had only involved the two of them.
However, now that they had a new addition to their lives, there were many other things they had to consider.
After all, it would be unfair to bring a child into a broken family.
Of course, that was assuming that Clarissa wanted to have the child.
Clarissa covered her eyes with one of her hands. Her voice muffled, “I really don’t know.”
Her mind was in a mess.
The pregnancy had disrupted all her plans.
Clarissa had considered having the child. Even if Chandler and her got a divorce, she would be able to support and raise a child.
However, she was worried that Hugh would use this child against her.
I’ve already been kidnapped once, but if I have a child…
Clarissa knew that Hugh would continue to pester her and try to suck her dry.
Clarissa sounded like she was about to cry and Emily couldn’t help but feel for her. Emily comforted her, “It’s alright. Everything will work out. We’ll figure something out. Besides, you still have me. At worst, I’ll just get my parents to confront Chandler! I’ll always support you, no matter what!”
Emily’s words moved Clarissa and tears filled her eyes.
As tears rolled down her face, the confusion and helplessness that weighed down on Clarissa seemed to dissipate a little.
